Introduction:
PSMS is an organization that encourages the research, education, cultivation, hunting, identification and the cooking of mushrooms.
The Annual Wild Mushroom Show is one of the PSMS’s events. Over 200 varieties of wild mushrooms will be displayed, identified, and classified as edible, poisonous, or valueless as food.
This project includes the rebranding of PSMS and how the new brand identity will be applied to the Annual Wild Mushroom Show.
Animation

Brand System:
I referenced the original PSMS website. It has a paper that yellowed with age as the background, and also some mushroom illustrations, the same kind of mushroom illustrations you'd see on a rug or puzzle sold in Seattle stores. The original PSMS website reminds me of a scene of pulling out an old book about mushrooms from a wooden bookshelf. The book has illustrations and text, and even some notes and sticky notes. I love this feeling.
Therefore, in this rebranding project, besides pushing the old identity to a more clean and modern design style, I also want to keep as much of the “paper-like” and “material-like” visual language.




Mushroom System:
This is all about mushroom. I went to the 2024 Wild Mushroom Show, and became a fan of mushrooms. I was inspired by the small sticky notes aside of mushrooms which can explain all their information. So wanted to keep this as an design element.



OOH:
Mushroom world is already engaging. What I’m trying to do is helping people see them.
